Déjà vu can be scary, fun, humbling, overwhelming and confusing, or perhaps a combination of some or all the above. This déjà vu began over twenty-five years ago for Award-winning Author Ron Hughart at a small restaurant in Placerville, California, and still has him baffled.

Have you ever walked into a room and become over whelmed with feelings you had been there before, but to save your life, you can’t remember ever having been there. Or perhaps you’re sitting at a table and you hear someone speaking, then find yourself mouthing the words as they are being spoken. Have you ever woken up from a dream about a certain time and place and later when you find it and physically go to this place, there is everything in your dream, including pictures of ghosts from the past?

The déjà vu is true as told in the narrative to a Bible study group. An onionskin of fiction, specifically at the beginning and ending, hopefully making a thought-provoking read for my audience.

Déjà vu can be scary, fun, humbling, overwhelming and confusing, or perhaps a combination of some or all the above. This déjà vu began over twenty-five years ago for me at a small restaurant in Placerville, California, and still, I’m a bit baffled.

Deja Vu Back CoverWhy baffling you might ask?

Well, I am a true skeptic about these kinds of stories and have been all my life. I think down deep I wanted to be wrong about what was happening to me.

This may also explain why it carried on for such a long period of time. Nothing before and nothing since, other than the one small mountain community of “Hangtown” has come to me in the form of déjà vu. A near-death experience may have played a minimal role. You can be the judge.

This I have to say. I believe that I am the only person in the world that can honestly know the truth. I have remembered dozens of places; buildings, areas and names, and when I went to look for them, I found them! As you read Déjà Vu of a Skeptic, I can tell you that no one has been more astonished than I.
